Why is Snowy cheaper than OpenSnow?
Snowy is a smaller, leaner product built without meteorologist staff or editorial overhead. We focus on aggregating best-in-class weather model data (GFS, ECMWF, HRRR) rather than producing original forecasts. That lets us keep costs — and prices — low.
What don't I get versus OpenSnow?
OpenSnow has local forecasters who write resort-specific commentary and custom storm alerts. Snowy doesn't have human meteorologist commentary. If you want expert narrative on top of raw model data, OpenSnow delivers that. Snowy is for people who trust the models and want to compare them side-by-side at a lower price.
Is there a free trial?
There's no time-limited trial, but Snowy's core features — resort conditions, daily forecasts from all three models, and the resort map — are completely free. You only need Premium for lift status, snowfall charts, hourly forecasts, webcams, season comparisons, and Favorites.
Is there a family or group plan?
Not currently. Premium is a single-user annual plan at $24/year. If you'd like to see a family plan, open a feature request on GitHub.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. You can cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings. Your Premium access remains active through the end of the billing period.
What payment methods are accepted?
We use Stripe for payment processing. All major credit and debit cards are accepted.
